While art remained has remained central in Alma’s life, she by 1974 found herself having to abandon her studio, giving up painting. The void left by the loss of her husband, compounded by the need to re-enter the workforce, left her with little time or spirit to pursue her own art. These were the last of her major works before she ended her career as an artist.
